Eerie Reflection In Mirror Has Bride-To-Be Spooked

Usually, the worst thing you might see in a photo of a bride-to-be trying on wedding dresses would be a poor fit or an ugly gown, but what appeared in Tessa Coates' picture might give you nightmares. In the image, you can see Tessa looking at her reflection in two different mirrors, yet those reflections show her in totally different positions. Tessa is actually posed with one arm on her stomach, but one mirror bizarrely shows her with her arms by her sides and the other with her arms crossed in front of her.

She captioned the pic, "I went wedding dress shopping and the fabric of reality crumbled. This is a real photo, not photoshopped, not a pano, not a Live Photo... Please enjoy this glitch in the matrix/photo that me nearly vomit in the street." She also used the opportunity to announce her engagement.

Not surprisingly, commenters didn't know what to think. One wrote, "This whole sequence of events is both absolutely terrifying and hilarious," while another asked, "How is this possible?!?! Magic mirrors?"

In fact, very few people knew what was going on in the image. The employees at the dress shop were just as confused as Tessa, so she went to the Apple Store to see if they knew more since the shot was taken with her iPhone. One guy working the Genius Bar said he hadn't ever seen anything like it before but explained that iPhones are computers, not cameras, and they don't just take one shot, rather a burst of images from left to right to capture one image - even if Live Photo is turned off. He thinks Tessa raised her hands at that exact moment, stating, "If you look at the left side, that's a complete image, if you look at the right side, that's also a complete image." He added, "It's made like an AI decision and it stitched those two photos together." He noted something like this happening has a "one in a million chance" and likely won't happen to other iPhone users.
