Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak's first single as new band Silk Sonic has arrived!
On Friday (March 5), the duo dropped "Leave The Door Open" alongwith its corresponding music video. The track marks the first song off Bruno and Anderson's upcoming collaborative album titled An Evening With Silk Sonic.
In the Bruno and Florent Dechard-directed visual, Bruno and Anderson perform the track alongside their backing band. Bruno additionally plays the piano as he sings the chorus: “I’ma leave the door open / (I’ma leave the door open) / I’ma leave the open girl / (I’ma leave the door open, hopin’),” Bruno sings on the smooth jam. “That you feel the way I feel / And you want me like I want you tonight baby / Tell me that you’re coming through.”
"Leave The Door Open" comes days after Bruno and Anderson announced that they had teamed up to create their new band Silk Sonic and would be releasing an album soon. “We locked in and made an album. The band’s called Silk Sonic. First song drops next Friday 3/5 [5 March],” Bruno tweeted last week.
Meanwhile, Paak wrote on social media, “WE MADE AN ALBUM!! YALL GET THE FIRST SONG NEXT FRIDAY 3/5!! ROCKET EMOJIS AND ALL THAT!!!”
An Evening With Silk Sonic marks Bruno’s first LP since his 2016 album 24K Magic. The album will also be Anderson's first full-length project since the release of his fourth studio album, Ventura, in 2019.
The artists previously worked together in 2017 when Anderson opened for Bruno on the European leg of his “24K Magic World Tour.”
