'Bob The Builder' Voice Actor William Dufris Dead At Age 62

William Dufris, the actor behind beloved animated series, Bob the Builder, has died after a battle with cancer. He was 62.

News spread on Tuesday (March 24) when Pocket Universe Productions, which was co-founded by Dufris, broke the sad news on Twitter. "We are heartbroken to announce that the co-founder of @pocketplot and the director of EC Comics Presents... The Vault of Horror, William Dufris, has died from cancer," read the message. "There is a hole in a lot of people’s hearts right now. We will have more to say later. Bless you, Bill."

He voiced multiple character (including Bob) in the series for 75 episodes in the span of nine seasons. He left the show in 2006 after the series' co-creator Sarah Bell departed. The role of Bob was then performed by comedian Greg Proops.

Dufris started his career in London, while working on BBC Radio. As for his voice-acting resume, he also contributed to audio drama productions of Spider-Man, Judge Dredd, Voyage and An American Werewolf in London.
