Halsey Pays Tribute To The Lesbian Couple Attacked On A London Bus

Halsey showed her allegiance to the LGBTQ community by supporting the lesbian couple who were attacked on a London bus last week.

During her Monday night (June 10) show in London, the pop star wore a t-shirt with a photo of the bloodied women and made sure to make her point crystal clear. "The sad reality is after the pride parades are over and after the bars close their pride nights, when the glitter is being swept out of the streets, a lot of people get on those trains, get on those buses, and try to wash the rainbows off their bodies, and peel the stickers off their clothes," the 24-year-old told the packed crowd. "Because when pride is over, it's not safe to be gay anymore, they're worried that someone is going to viciously assault them or viciously attack them."

When it came down to the fuss that three Boston men are planning a "Straight Pride" parade, Halsey said that if there was a day dedicated to heterosexuals "you wouldn't have to get on the bus and be terrified of getting f**king beaten and killed afterwards." "That's why there's not a straight pride parade because every f**king day on public transport is a straight pride parade. So we need to take moments like this when all of us are together, we need a moment to remember how lucky we are to have a safe space right now," she continued.
