It’s no secret that Taylor Swift’s latest single “Delicate” is likely about boyfriend Joe Alwyn so when she dropped the music video during the 2018 iHeartRadio Music Awards on Sunday, March 11, all eyes were peeled for a JA reference.
And we got one! Well, kinda, maybe.
Taylor shot the video in downtown L.A. and it features historic landmarks such as the Los Angeles Theatre, Biltmore Hotel and — Joe’s Deli!
While the reference is subtle, let’s be honest, nothing Taylor or director Joseph Kahn do isn’t planned to perfection.
That said, the video is all about Taylor finding Taylor again. As one fan on Twitter perfectly explained: “For anyone who doesn’t understand the delicate music video is about how Taylor was so loved, everyone was at her disposition and all of the sudden everyone started to hate her so she viewed herself as invisible and she knew she had to be true to herself and she found happiness.”
shes so extra!! she has graffiti that says "echoes of your footsteps" "delicate " "reputation" "track 5" and a sign that says joes diner i love this woman @taylornation13 @taylorswift13 #delicate #DelicateMusicVideo— rachel | chi - town (@Rachel_Dancer13) March 12, 2018
It’s truly a revival of goofy, feel-good Taylor. As for the other hidden messages, fans were quick to notice graffiti in the video which read “delicate,” “track 5” and “reputation.”
